The burning house

It's a pretty simple concept. If your house was burning down what would be the last things you grabbed before your house went up in flames? It's a battle between what's practical and what's sentimental. What could you never forgive yourself for leaving behind? Any one from anywhere in the world can submit and just give a basic description of the stuff in the photo. I love this blog it's so simple and really makes you re-evaluate what is really important to you and what is ultimately just stuff? For one thing after becoming slightly addicted and spending a few hours looking through strangers posts I thought to myself, "Would I really run back into my burning house to grab my converse sneakers? Probably not, but it seems shoes are pretty important to about 70% of the people submitting these posts. I found that strange, however many would probably find what I decide to take strange too. Here are some of my favourite ones.

Frankie, 29, Scotland here's her description : "I wondered around my house, looking at the ornaments and memories that filled it.  I collected a few things, even photographed them.  But somehow they didn’t seem to fit together. And then I looked down, at my feet, and realized that all I needed or wanted to ‘save’ from the burning house was me."

This has to be one of my favourite ones. It' so simple and sentimental. Mine would probably look like this. Nicole,29, South Carolina her motivation :" great grandmother’s four leaf clover pin
A special letter from my beau
A special letter from my great grandmother
My grandfather’s gospel music recordings
A piece of wallpaper torn from my childhood home.

Ok so I have a feeling this could be my future husband just based on his selection of stuff and the fact that his favourite book is the same as mine. My previous choice in suitors may not showcase this but I'm a sucker for intellectuals. Ty is from New York, yip he could definitely be my future husband

Ok so this last one I have included just because it is absolutely ridiculous. How could you possibly want to take all that stuff??? I fear Sean from Brooklyn might just go up in flames. Check out some more here.
